December 19, 2011 Work!!

Well we had a pretty good week this week. We´ve put ourselves back to work and are seeing blessings! We found a great family this week, a mother and her 2 children. WE found them of friday, she was carrying a jug of water and i helped her take it to her house, then we talked and she started crying. It was AWESOME! then we set up another appointment for the next day and we taught her a little more and invited her to church. Then We passed by sunday morning and she and her 2 kids we ready and CAME!! WOOT!! They seemed to really enjoy it. The kids were running around after and the lady, Margarita, is really cool. Tonight we´re having our christmas activity and hopefully they´ll come. But it´ll be during our district meeting so we won´t be there for much time... so yeah.
Well This week is Christmas!!!! i´m very very excited! I´m excited to talk to you all on Sunday at 3:00 pm in my parents house, and everyone is invited because i want to talk to everyone!!
Love you all tons and hope you have a very very merry Christmas!!

December 12, 2011 Happy Birthday Virgen of Guadalupe!!!

Well hello everyone!!
As you may or may not know, today is a national holiday here in mexico. It´s the birthday of the Virgen of Guadalupe!!! Quite possible the most celebrated holiday of the year, except maybe new years. But yes, I was up kind of late with a ton of fireworks, bands, Tlacololeros (in the pictures), and lots more fun!! And all day long theyve been lighting off fireworks and worshiping an awesome amount of Apostacy! YAY APOSTACY!! haha, but now that this holidays over we won´t have to worry about investigators apostacizing anymore! haha thats a good note.
This week was pretty bad, my comp was sick on tuesday and we had very little success. Friday we had a zone service project which was pretty fun, but it seemed like they wanted us to be hidden, so it wasn´t much and it was kind of hidden. But cool anyway.
So Saturday night we had a big event here in Chilpancingo. We had an earthquake that was rated at 6.8. all the locals said it was atleast an 8 though. the epicenter was in a town called Zumpango del Rio. About 30 minutes out of Chipancingo. It was really cool, and slightly scary. we were in a crappy wood house that was tall and the walls almost colapsed, we almost died. haha but nothing happened. A big Catholic church in the center of the city broke. not totally but now it has big cracks. crazy. so yeah, that was an exciting way to end the week.
We also had a BAPTISM!!! A little girl named Lesly finally said yes. She´s been active her whole life, just didn´t want to get baptized! I don´t know why, but we finally talked her into it! She was reallys scared of the water and her foot came out so i had to baptize her twice, that was even worse for her, but she did it!! Then my bishop let me confirm her too!! it was awesome! haha
So thats about it. we´re getting excited for the christmas conference of the mission on the 20th. it should be exciting.

Pictures!!
1. The baptism of Lesly. she lives with her grandma and older brother Esteven. He´s awesome
2. Elder munden and Steven
3. Tlacololeros!! They have big hats, straw suits and big masks, it´s a traditional dance of Guerrero. They had a tiger that dances with them too (a man in a suit) but yes it´s exciting. they are kind of like Chinelos, but not as cool. haha

Love you all tons and hope you have a very merry christmas!

December 5, 2011 More Photos

Yeah these are pictures of a Alacran (like a scorpion) that we found in our house, we were smart enough to cut off its tale and stinger before we played with it. it was fun haha. but they are very dangerous when they sting you. but yeah. we took off its stinger first, cause we´re smart .
There is also a picture of the baptism of Xochitl, she is super cool, her mom too. Her little brother is a crazy monster, but thats to be expected of a 5 year old. Our ward mission leader is also in the picture, his name is Moroni, yes from the Book of Mormon. he has a brother named Mosiah thats on the mission. Book of Mormon names are SUPER popular in the mormon mexican world. haha he got back from his mission like 2 months ago. Cool.

THANKSGIVING!!!! The first of two. OH! I also had a second thanksgiving dinner this week. There´s a member here from Oregon. He´s super gringo and loves speaking english. Infact, he doesn´t speak spanish super well haha, he invited us all over for a big Thanksgiving dinner, sadly i forgot my camera, but hopefully other elders will pass me the pictures. But it was awesome and DELISH!!

December 5, 2011

Another week in Obrera, Chilpancingo. (Obrera in english means ´´female Worker´´ haha)
This week was pretty rough. We have have been finding quite a few people to teach, but it seems that almost none of them are progressing. It´s been pretty rough here the last few weeks, but we have a bright future ahead of us, and lots of work to be done.
This week we had stake conference, The mission presidente, Presidente Spannaus, and the Temple President from the Temple of Mexico City spoke. It was fantastic. The temple president taught about the great blessings of the temple and how we can all be blessed. it was a seriously great talk and made me miss the temple. I haven´t beens ince January and I want to go super bad. HOpefully in this month or next month I´ll be going to the temple with one of my converts who will be going to receive her endowments! I´m extremely excited for that. And theres one of my converts that will complete one year in January and will be able to be sealed with his wife! Im going to talk to them this week and see if they will be going soon, then I can go with them too!!! I would LOVE that. So we´ll see what happens in these next few weeks.
We had a baptism this week as well!!! It was of a little 8 year old girl in our ward. She´s not a convert, but we reactivated her and her family and my companion baptized her. So i consider her as my convert. haha her name is Xochitl pronounced ( Sochil) She´s pretty awesome. And hopefully this week we´ll be baptizing another little girl. She was supposed to get baptized with Xochitl, but something happened with her aunt and she couldn´t. So we´ll see what happens.
Well finally like I promised, I´ll be sending photos.
First off. Because missionaries sometimes have spare time, myc ompnaion and i decided to buy a game. ANGRY BIRDS! yes, it is a board game and it is fun and appropriate. i will probably be bringing it home and we will play it as a family!!
I also have the pictures of the baptism of Freddy, (Alfredo), he is a cool kid who´s neighbors are members. It was fun to baptize him, I had to do it like 3 times cause his foot kept pooping up. haha more pictures to come!
Love you all!!!

Thanksgiving.... NOT HERE!

Hey family!!!
Guess whats happening for you guys this week? TANKSGIVING!! yes. tanks. guess whats happening here... NOTHING!!! yes, they don´t understand what a good day of giving thanks and eating till you explode means. But we´re going to talk to a sister about having us over for thanksgiving dinner. we´ll see how that goes. haha
and highlights. WE BAPTIZED!!! 3 out of the last 4 weeks!! we´ve been doing pretty well lately. This weeks we baptized a 15 year old kid named Freddy (Alfredo). he´s cool. his neighbors, basically parents, are members and we´ve been teaching him for a few weeks. he was pretty pumped and got baptized during church yesterday!!! haha it was great! i quite enjoyed it. We´ve been working pretty hard, but have baptized basically all of our progressing investigators. so we have a little bit of catching upt o do... sadly. but no problem. thats what we can do! haha
Well not really much else to report. HOpefully i´ll be sending home christmas packaged next week. just to tell everyone. they won´t be big. but i´ll try to send something to everyone.
Well love you all tons and hope you all get just stuffed to your brains with delicious turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pie..... mmmmmmm. stuff that basically doesn´t exist. here.. lame. but oh well. the life of a missionary. haha LOVE IT!
Well love youall tons!

Well hello family!!!!

What a fantastic week it was. It started off slow and prety rough, as the change was coming to an end. But it ended well, with Zone conference on friday! very spiritual and got me pumped for my next change, that i´m staying here with Elder Munden!!! 3 changes we´ll have now!! woot woot!! And the best part of the week was 2 baptisms!!! We´ve been talking with these two kids, Enrique, and Ana. Cousins. And they have been progressing very well, and they both told us that they wanted to get baptised this last week. So we got them prepared and Sunday morning right before the services we baptized them both! it was awesome! So yeah, it turned out to be a very good week. i´m excited for this next change with Elder Munden. WE´re going to work even harder, we have a goal to baptize 8 people in this next change. That would be great!! haha I know we can do it. We just need to work harder and be more obedient. which we´pre going to do. so yeah!

Today, i included pictures!! of the baptism and of us with out zone leaders. One of them left for acapulco today. We´re getting a new ZL. sad. but cool.

Well i love you all tons. Sorry i don´t write much anymore. I just don´t know what else to say. I talked to elder White in the morning, My last companion, he´s just leaving Coahuixtla to go to Alta Mirano, the hottest area in the mission. haha, he says that my 2 families that I baptized in Coahuixtla are active and doing great! Both the dads have received the priesthood, and the mom that i didn´t baptize has an awesome testimony now. I´m planning on returning in about there in about a year to go to the temple with them.

Well I love you all tons and hope that you have all kicked off Christmas!! I put up my tree yesterday!!! woot woot!!

hola familia!!!

Well hooowowwdddyyy!!!!
This week turned out be pretty great. We´re teaching a bunch of youth right now that are all progressing to baptism. We have one baptism for the next week, Enrique. He´s super cool. his siblings are almost all members, just fritos (fried) and rarely go. But he goes every week and told us he wants to get baptized saturday!!! yeah!!! We played basketball with him today. We also found out this last week that theres a little girls in the ward that needs to get baptized. She´s 8 and doesn´t have any papers in the church so she´s OURS!! mwahaha. She´s been active her whole life and loves the missionaries, so we thought. "we´ll just go over and tell her to get baptized sunday morning and have an easy baptizm". NOT SO EASY. haha little girls sometimes are serious business. She does not want to! haha, rebel. But we´re going to talk to her this week and her grandma is basically going to make her get baptized, because she needs to. She´s gone to church her WHOLE life. haha so hopefully if everything goes well we´ll have both baptisms this week. This week is also changes. I think my companion is going. And i´ll probably stay.
Well i dont have much time. i love you all tons mucho mucho much and hope your all doing well

Well hello everyone!

This week was crazy. The weeks are now flying by like days. I can´t believe how fast the time goes on the mission. We had a pretty crazy week that involved looking a lot for the girl that was supposed to get baptized. Well she didn´t. haha And we couldn´t find her until Saturday night, but she told us that she started working and has been busy with school and stuff. So we´re looking to see if she will be baptized this week. So things are starting to move forward here, little by little. But I´m staying excited about the things that are to come.
we started playing manheim steamroller in our apartment this week! My companion has a bunch on his Ipod. it rocks and is getting me super excited for Christmas, even though Halloween is only a week away. Here, they don´t really celebrate halloween, they celebrate, Dia de los Muertos (the day of the dead) it´s crazy. I´ll take pictures and send them.
We finally got a ward mission leader!!! He got back from the mission like 3 weeks ago! haha i´m excited to start working with him. and yeah. Thats about it. We´ve got a couple people that could very well get baptized in this next month, but we´re having a serious problem getting people to come to church! I don´t know why it´s so hard, but they just won´t come!!! lame. If any one has idea on how I can help them come tell me. haha
well thats about all that I have for this week. I lov eyou all and hope that you have a fantastic week! Keep praying and Reading your Scriptures!

Well what a week

Can I tell you all just how crazy this week has been? haha well the halloween season has picked up here in Mexico, We just got back from Wallmart. They had a huge halloween display up, it was playing the nightmare before Christmas in Spanish. Not as good. But still pretty good I think. haha I didn´t watch it, I just heard the singing. So we had lots of work and we´ve been concentrating on a few people. Hopefully this saturday we Will have the baptisms of Cinthia and Ramiro, more for sure Cinthia. They´re siblings. She´s really cool, their mom is a member and they just haven´t really wanted to get baptized until now. We´re very excited. haha.
So crazy story for the week. yesterday myc ompanion and I went to eat lunch at a members house after church. When we were done we went on a walk to our house, and my companion wanted to show me a super steep hill in our area. But we got lost looking for it. And we ended up wandering into the other area by ours, which right now doesn´t have elders in the ward. So we pased by a members house and they told us to come over so we did. Turns out this week their niece and her "husband", Candy and Manuel, moved in with they from Acapulco where they´d been investigating the church, and they both want to get baptized!! So we did a little family home evening and started preparing them. They´re very interested and live with an awesome family. This friday we´re going to go get them married in a neighboring town called Zumpango and this saturday they´re going to get baptized!!! haha we´re verye xcited. We were wondering why we got lost just looking for a hill, but now we know why! the Lord works in Mysterious ways. haha Well i love you all tons and hope that you are all fantastically great on this find Monday.

Welll hello family! Another mission Goal Accomplished!!

Well hello!
This week was definately a good one. We were working really hard to get a good amount of investigators and found 21 new people to teach this week!! woot! All the time we were also preparing for the Baptism of Jesus! That was a goal accomplished in the mission, I wanted to baptize someone named Jesus. Yeah, we found him like 2 weeks ago. His daughter is a member that we reactivated and baptized her daughter, then she told us to come by later and talk with her dad, so we did. He´s super duper cool. He progressed seriously so fast, It was a great day to see him get baptized. his son Baptized him, he´s going on a mission to Chile in January. It´s super cool. But yeah. so that was the highlight of this week. We have a lot of work to do here in these next few weeks and I have a lot of work to do as well. We have a relatively new district so we´re going to start really cool training in district meeting. From the SCRIPTURES!!! yeah!
So yeah, that is just a few things of what are happening here in Chilpancingo Guerrero! I¨m very excited. Sadly I don´t have very much time so i´ll send pictures next week ok?? LOVE YOU ALL TONS!!

Well hello! CONFERENCE!

Well hello everyone.
Wasn`t this week just so superly great AWESOME!!! I think it was. Because we got the awesome opportunity to see General Conference! i loved it. We watched all 5 sessions in the stake center, and because right now we`re a lot of Americans in my zone, we watched all 5 sessions in English!!! It was great. I`m not going to lie, I love spanish. But hearing the Prophet speak, and hearing a translation of his talk in spanish, are two very different things. There were tons of talks taht I loved. I loved President Uchdorfs talk, and in the final sessions J. Devn Cornish. The newly called 70 from 6 months ago. he`s turning into one of my favorite 70s. haha But really the whole conference was amazing and talked a lot about missionary work. I loved it. it really got me excited to start workin this next week. I love having conference, then p day to rest, then GET BACK TO WORK!!! thats what i`m doing. I loved when President Eyering told the story of him and President hinkley in the Hotel, WHY ARE YOU SLEEPING?? I laughed a lot. but it really stuck with me. Why aren`t we doing EVERYTHING that we can in our callings of the church. Whether it be full time missionary, Ward missionary, of Teacher of the high priests group. We need to strive for the best in everything, prepare ourselves as best as we can, so when the moment comes that we are needed, we`re ready. Because you know what they say. "when the time to act is here, the time to prepare has long passed". I wanted to share that thought with all of you, that i`m super excited for the Blessings that Heavenly father has for me for doing his work and I know that he has many many blessings ready for all of you, as you work hard is your callings of the church. And for anyone who doesn`t have a calling, or isn`t worthy of performing your call, I challenge you all to do everything possible to be worthy, or if you just don`t have one, Talk to you bishop, and ask him what can you possibly do to help in the church, and i`m sure he will be more than happy to put you to work.
Were getting ready this week, for the baptism of Jesus Adolfo. he is super great. He is the Grandpa of the little girl that got baptized a week ago. We`ve been teaching him for 2 weeks now, and he has progressed soooo fast it`s amazing. he is reading and praying and went to conference and loved it. He`s super excited and ready. Sadly, he doesn`t live in our area, so the Zone leaders are going to baptise him. But oh well, thats how things in the mission are sometimes.
These last 2 days, we`ve had 2 other campanionships staying at our house. They both live in little villages in the middle of no where, so they were here for conference. Oh and to answer a question of someone, pretty much no one watches it in their house. sometimes. But not a lot. One of the missionaries that was here, Elder Slade. Is dying this wednesday. This last week completed 2 years, and sadly I said goodbye for the last time for some time today. But we will see each other again. for sure. haha
We also had CHANGES THIS WEEK!!! But We DIDN`T GET CHANGED!! I^m very happy. Elder Munden and I are a good companionship. We push each other and learn fast, We`re going to do really good this Change.
Well thats about all that I have for all of you. I love you all tons tons and loads and hope that you are all happy with what was said at conference and are trying to find ways of making yourself better. I know I am.
I love you all!!

B B B B Bautizmoozzzzz

Well This week was just a fantastic week of MIRACLES. haha this month has been pretty hard for us and we havén´t been baptizing. But miraculously we went with a family every week this week and saturday they decided to get baptized. It was seriously awesome. I loved it!!! We also Found a family of inactives and we talked with them and got them excited to come back to church, and found out that their daughter hadn´t been baptized yet, so we set everything up and she got baptized saturday with our investigators!! Woot!!
The Mom´s name is Araceli, with her two kids, Kevin and Austin. They were born in North Carolina! My first American Converts!!! haha yeah!!!! And the little girls´ name is Sherlene. She´s a little cutie. haha but yeah. We worked super hard all week and it really all payed off.
Well I don´t know about the rest of you, But i´m SUPER EXCITED FOR CONFERENCE!!!!!! YEAHHH!!! as missionaries, this is definately a highlight of the year. Sadly this is my second to last conference in the mission.... but i´m going to enjoy it. And Because we´re a lot of Gringos here in Chilpancingo, we´re going to get another room with a Tv and we´re going to watch it in English. Like i did in Cuernavaca, 6 months ago. hahah But yeah. We´re all super excited for everything to be awesome this week.
Well love you all tons and hope that everything is going really well and that your all happy, but sadly i have to go
Love you tons!!

Mexican Night, and BAPTISM!!!!

Welll what a week we have had here in Chilpancingo Guerrero.
So this week was pretty rough. We worked real hard all week and wednesday we went and talked to one of our investigators Carlos, and told him that we think that he´s ready for baptism. Because he is. And said that he should get baptised this week, and he said OK! haha it was really a miracle. he´s progressed super well over hte last month. To tell the truth, my first lesson I was thinking that he wasn´t going anywhere because he didn´t seem like someone that would progress. Then he read, prayed, and came to church, then got an answer that it´s true and got baptized!!!! yeah!!!! It was such a great day. I was super happy. I haven´t been so long without baptising since the beginning of my mission. But it was really a blessing these last 4 weeks. And now we have a cool family of 5 that we´re working with. They came to church for the second time yesterday and we´re going with them everynigth this week to seee if they want to be baptised this week. haha. Well the works goings well right now.
We also had a Mexican night this week, because the 15 of September is mexico´s independence day. We had to be in early becuase people get crazy and shoot lots of guns in the air. People die sometimes. haha, But nothing happened. The Noche Mexicana was pretty cool in the church though. They had dances, and songs, and Tamales, Horchata, agua de Jamaica, and much much more! haha but sadly we had to leave early so we didn´t see it all.
Oh and last week I weighed myself and I oficially weight 200 pounds! that means that i´ve lost 47 pounds in the last 14 months.... wow. And speaking of that in 2 days I complete 14 months! wow! ONLY 10 LEFT! When they say time flies by. it really does. Thats not a lie. haha But i´m loving every moment of it here with Elder Munden. And now we´re going to go eat Pizza!! yeah!!! p.s. Good pizza in mexico is expensive. Crappy pizza is also expensive. Good thing for rich members! haha eyah!!!! love you all tons!!!

p.s. We taught a guy this week named Gandhi. yes like THAT Gandhi. haha

HOLA FAMILIA!!

Well hello!!
So this week was pretty crazy! WE were workin pretty har then Saturday we had the opportunity to go to Cuernavaca to listen to Elder Ballard!!!!!!!! The only bad part was that our bus left at 4. a.m. So we had to get up at 3 and head out there..... yeah. it was rough. I only slept like 2 hours. But it was an AMAZING conference. President Spannaus (my mission President) Called me friday night and told me that was I was going to be leading the music in the conference, it was really cool. I got to Shake Elder Ballards hand.... 3 times!!! haha but seriously, we learned a ton about how to be affective missionaries. It was super great, and this week we`re going to go out and work super hard!!! We hopefully will be havign a baptism of Carlos this week. WE have a bunch of people that are getting there, but it`s been pretty hard so far here. but i`m still super excited!!!
Well Thats about all the exciting things that happened this week. Not a whole lot goes on here in Chilpancingo.
Well I love you ALL tons! and hope your having a great time!!!!

Well hellllooooo!!!!!

How is everyone? Good I hope. haha because I am too. Sweaty and tired from Soccer. But good. haha
this week Elder Munden and I started working. But WORKING! We´ve just destroying our area. We are getting the ward super excited and they´re helping us a ton with lessons with memebers, and we had a miracle of 12 investigators int he Church!!! Yeah!! The most i´ve had in my mission. We have a rough month ahead of us full of a TON of work. But ´we´re up for it. I´m glad i´m here with My companion, he likes working. and SO DO I!!! haha
But I reallydont have a lot to report. Except that i´m not a fan of Teaching 7th day adventists... not the funnest. They just don´t understand that the sabath day was changed to sunday with the Ressurection of Christ. They just don´t get it.... rough times. But we keep giong on!!!
As you can tell I finally added the photos of The baptism of Narciso, and Ana!!! And if you´ve paid attention the 3 kids are already baptised. The WHOLE FAMILY!! That made me super super happy... haha But here we´ve found a couple families super CHIDOS!! (if you don´t know what that means ask your nearest Mexican (not racist)) So hopefully we´ll be seeing some water here pretty soon haha. But I really am enjoying myslef here. I wake up in the mornings cold here sometimes! I LOVE IT! haha and i´m only like an hour and a half away from Acapulco. it would be a nice place to have a summer house some day... just saying. haha
Well thats about it. I hope you all have a fantastic week and i´ll talk to you next MONDAY!!!
Love you all!

Well hello everyone!!!

Chilpancingo.
I¨m workin hard. haha. My companion, Elder Munden, is super awesome and funny. We work hard, and we´re about to put outselves to work until we die in this month. We have 2 families that are pretty cool. one of 5 and the other of 4 and a bunch of other people and with any luck we´ll see some baptisms soon. We had a really good week, except that not even 1 investigator came to church... A little discouraging, but thats what we need to concentrate on this week. But everything is going great. Sorry i don´t ahve pictures for you guys yet. I left my camera in the house and always forget to bring it to the internet place where we go.
There was a cool member that we met this week, Juan José, he got here from Michoacan (another state of Mexico) about 2 months ago and was looking for the elders by his house. He found us tuesday and thursday and friday he went out with us all day long. It was awesome. It´s super cool when the members start to work. I have a feeling this ward is going to be working really hard pretty soon. The ward here has very low activity rate. Theres about 430 members on the list. and usually about 40 or 50sih actives. This week we were almost 70. So we have a lot to work on the with the inactives to reactive them and the ward to help. But thats pretty normal.
So I guess I would say that life is pretty normal here in Guerrero Mexico. I haven´t heard of too many people getting killed. So everythings good. haha
OH Next saturday, Elder Ballard is coming the talk to all the missionaries!!!!!! WWWWOOOOOHHHH!!!!! The mission is super pumped to finally get an apostle. This is the first time an apostle has visited the mission in over 2 years. A few months ago we had President Rasband, The President of the Presidency of the 70s. That was awesome... but i´m super pumped. WE´re having Another mission conference!! I´m super excited. I¨m sure you can all tell
So Thats about it. We just played soccer for a few hours. Theres a new elder here, he was actually companions with my current companion in the MTC, His name is Elder Achziger. He´s half black. haha and he was a proffesional Ballet Dancer before the mission. haha he´s super cool. I wouldn´t mind being companions with the two only black missionaries int eh mission. But we´ll see what happens.
Well Today will be my frist District meeting as district Leader here in Chilpancingo. WE´ll see how it goes. I´m super exctied. Our zone has a goal of About 65 baptisms for this months...... a lot. But we´re going to work our tushes off. haha yeah.
thanks you all for you prayers and please pray for our investigators.
I Love you all a ton!!

HOLA from CHILPANCINGO GUERRERO!!!

Well hello everyone!!
Guess what? today i´m writing you from the state of Guerrero. Why? because today is changes!!! what? Elder Summers Got changed? yup. haha it was a sad moment leaving Coahuixtla. But it was a fun time that I had there so ít´s all ok. Yesterday I went by with all of the families and my converts and said goodbye. it was sad.
But saturday we had the most miracle of all!! 2 baptisms!! The couple that we married 2 weeks ago finally decided to get baptized, and since we already baptized their kids thats the whole family!! They´re just a great family. Super special, it was sad to say goodbye the them but I did. haha I´ll be sending pictures of their baptism next week.
Well my new area. I´m now in the STate of Guerrero, the City of Chilpancingo, area of Obrera. It´s pretty sweet, my companion is Elder Munden, he´s super funny and awesome, he´s new but speaks spanish very well. He´s from Arizona. I´ve still only had 1 mexican companion. haha, but thats how it goes sometimes.
Another sad moment was saying goobye to Elder White, my only Black companion... haha he was a great guy and we had a good 2 changes together, I enjoyed out time. I´m also District Leader here. It´s pretty exciting and really great. I enjoy opportunites to serve and I hope I do a good job here. My first zone in Cuautla is only 3 baptisms away from completing the goal of 27 baptisms. The first time in the history of the mission for that zone. So I feel very happy that i was a part of that. and if we push ourselves this week Chilpancingo could do very well this month as well. This zone was the highest baptizing for like 10 months straight, but these past 2 months it wasn´t, but that is about to change again. haha
As you can tell i´m very happy about my new area and companion. I´m excited to meet the ward even though my companion told me that there are only about 35 active members...... huh. That will be fun. But i´ll whip these memebers into shape to come back. mwahaha
Well thats about all that í have to report this week. I love you all and hope that you are all fantastically good!!

Hola Todos!!!

Well hello family!!
This week was pretty crazy. So we started out the week pretty normal. But Wednesday we took a ROAD TRIP!! to where you might ask? to Guerrero, the other state in my mission. A city called Taxco! Why? To marry a couple! I^ve mentioned before that it`s really difficult to marry people in the State of Morelos, and they couldn`t get married here. it was lame, so we took them to Taxco and did it in someones kitchen!!! haha. easy! so that was fun. Someone told me it was only like an hour and a half to get there. lie. 3 hours... haha it was a little long. But super fun. So now the couple is ready to be baptized!!! yay!! but..... they told us that they want to wait till the 22nd of September............. lame. But it`s the birthday of their oldest son that died 3 years ago. so I understand. But I just don`t want to wait anymore time. Waiting for ready people is the worst. But oh well.
Sadly next week are changes, so i`ll find out whats happening saturday. It`s very possible that i`ll be leaving. But also that i`ll be staying. so i`m really not sure whats going to happen. I kind of want to stay to baptize this family and others, but at the same time, I wouldn`t mind a change. So whatever happens, i`ll be happy! haha
Today we went to Tepotzlan again! it was pretty fun. WE climed the mo untain again. it`s hard. But not as bad as I remember it. haha, we got up relatively fast. and this time there were a lot of Tejones. remember what those are? they`re like mexican badgers. But their really friendly. WE brought up food this time and like 20 came out. it was entertaining. if you had food in your hand, they would climb up you to get it. haha. We ended up throwing a couple.... by their tails.... haha entertaining. because it doesn`t do anything to them. But thats how my day went. It was fun.
Sadly the Baptism of Diego didn`t happen this week. He called us friday and said that he wasn`t going to be able to do it this week. It was kind of weird. I figured he was leaving or something, cause he just got married to a member, but he didn`t. he was just in his house. it was weird. So we`re going with him tomorrow to check out whats up.
Well yeah thats about all. if everything goes extremely well we`ll have a few baptisms this week and we`ll see what happens with the changes next week!!
Love you all tonss!!!!

Capoera, EFY, and BAPTISMS!!

HEY EVERYONE!!
This week was really great. We started out working a lot, but all of the Young men and women in your ward went to EFY in Mexico City for the whole week... one of my converts went too!! Aldair! IT was super cool, but that meant that we didn`t have anyone to help up with lessons with members, cause we almost always take young men with us. So that was cool for them, but not so cool for us.
We also had an awesome experience. Roberto, whom we`ve been teaching for over 3 months finally got baptized!!! he said that he wanted to do it on his birthday, the 7th of August so we said ok! He was super ready, I believe he`s already in like Alma in the book of mormon... it`s awesome. He asked me if I would baptize him and I gladly accepted, it was super awesome.
We also had another Kid named Daniel that got baptized! He is awesome. We met him 2 weeks ago. He is the neighbor of some of my converts and they said that he wanted us to pass by with him one day, so we did and he was super excited. He really changed a lot and is one of the happiest teenagers i`ve ever seen.
Another guy in our ward, Reniel, helped us teach him and they got along super well and he asked if Reniel could baptize him. It was really spiritual and awesome. the only bad part was that the Church ran out of Gas for the Boiler, so the water was cold.... yes here in mexico gas runs out.... you have to buy big tanks of it for your house, for your boiler and stove and stuff and when it runs out, theres a gas truck that drives around all the time with it`s sirens super loud and annoying that sells you a new tank... the most in eficient way in the world? quite posibly. But thats how it is.
Then it started raining.... but RAINING. The Church almost flooded, but it stopped before the whole church became a pool. It was really a fantastic experience though. Pictures will come!! haha
Today we woke up and went to a karate gym, the owner is an investigator of the elders of the other ward. He`s super super cool. We did a ton of workouts and started some Capoera. It`s like a Brazilian Ju dit su or something like that. But it`s cool. I`ve always loved it. then we went back to the Hacienda here in Coahuixtla and saw the rest of it. It was cool, we chased sheep for a while and I caught a lamb and got a cool picture with it... haha but it was a really cool day, i`m just super burned and sore... but that will go away. haha
Well this next wednesday i`m going to Taxco, a city in Guerrero. the other state in my mission, to marry a couple. Here in Morelos, the marriage laws are crazy and it`s hard to marry people, but in Guerrero there pretty much aren`t laws. haha so we`re takin a cool road trip wednesday! HOORAY FOR RICH MEMBERS! hahah but seriously, it`s great when members can help you out with things like 4 hour marriage trips. a big blessing.
If everything goes well we`ll be baptizing that couple this week after their married. We`ve been teaching them my whole time here and They are ready. WE already baptized their 3 kids and now we just need the parents to make the whole family! haha
We also have another awesome guy thats getting baptized, his name is Diego. He`s the boyfriend of a member and they are either planning on getting married soon... or just got married. I forgot to ask them if they`ve done it yet... haha they also are going to go to Taxco to get married, because it`s so easy. But they are super cool and he is a super awesome spiritual guy, I enjoy every time that I talk to him. haha
Well thats about it for this week, I hope that you are all happy and well and that you have a great week!
I love you all A TON!! but even more and i`m glad for your support that you all give me

Este semana

Hola!
How is everyone? Good I hope. Well this week went pretty well. We had a hard time getting a hold of our investigator Apollo and he dissapeared for a few days, so we still haven´t been able to get everything ready for his baptism. But the next week we have the baptisms of Daniel and Roberto!!! I´m very very excited for that! We have been getting a lot more help from the ward lately and have received a few great references and lots of help from the youth! So thats great! Speaking of the youth. They all left to EFY today in the City of Mexico. There´s a high school owned by the church called The Benimerito de las Americas. it´s big and awesome, and they´pre having efy with like 5 or 6 thousand youth! one of my converts went!!! another was going to go but her dad said no... :( lame. But thats life. So i´m excited for the youth of Coahuixtla!! 16 youth went. Thats A TON!!! The other ward that shares a church building with us only had 2 go. hahahaha
So there really weren´t many things super exciting that happened this week. We got permission to have another week on bikes. That was fun, and we´ll see how this week goes if we get them or not. Well Thats about all that I have.
I love you all tons and hope that your all good!

Hola Familia!

Well hello!! This week was a fantastic week! we had the Baptism of Jonathan. He is 22 and is super cool, his mom and brother are already members, and usually his whole family goes to church. We`re still working on his other brother and his dad right now and hopefully soon the will get baptized too. But it was just really cool to see how ready and excited he was to get baptized! We did divizions twice this week so my companion and I were practically seperated all week. I did divisions with elder Ortega. Sounds mexican right? doesn`t speak spanish... haha he only has 2 weeks in the field, but he`s super cool. He`s in the other ward here in Coahuixtla. But it was fun. Then we did divisions witht he zone leaders, Elder Gomez came with me. It was fun, But we went to go do the interviews of two Girls that we`re teaching and they both told us that they dind`t want to get baptized this week. IT was kind of lame, but we`re going with them basically every day this week to get them pumped to get baptised.
In the next 3 weeks we have some amazing people getting ready for baptism. This Kid named Apolo is super pumped, I thought he was a member because he is at the church every day playing with the others teenagers in the ward. But he`s not, and he now has him moms permision to listen to us. He is probably the most excited person i`ve ever met to get baptized, if we could go baptize him right now he woould do it. The only problem is that we haven`t yet been able to talk directly to his mom and ask permision to baptize him, cause he`s only 15. So we`ll see how it goes down.
The next week we have Roberto. He`s been coming to church every week for like 3 months now. haha we baptized his 2 kids, Aldair, and Karina. And he wanted to wait for his birthday to get baptized so we said ok! haha i`m very excited for that. Then this week we found another awesome kid named Dani, he`s 16 and is neigbor and friend of my convert David. We taught him the first lesson and challenged him to be baptized saturday and he accepted very well, then he went with them to church sunday and after I asked him what he thought and said that he loved it and is going to get baptized. haha I^m super super excited, so we have him and andother investigator Diego for the next. Diego is the Fianceè of one a member in the ward, he is super exctied for his baptism. We taught him about the word of wisdom last night and talked abou his baptismal date and he said he feels great about it and doesn`t have any problems! so we are very excited about his progression.
And well we hopefully will have all the paper work together this week so we can marry Narcizo and Ana so we can baptize them. The whole family came to church this week. It was super awesome. Well thats about how the works going here in Coahuixtla, The promised land. haha But really things have been fantastic, some days are hard, but the good days make up for those.
Well if you didn`t notice, president gave us permission to use Bikes, so we now Bikes!! we snapped a few quick pics. haha and these are the baptismal pictures of Jonathan and his family.
Well I lvoe you all tons and hope to hear from you all soon!!
Love, Elder Summers

We put a lot of people with a baptismal date and we have 3 for sure baptisms this next saturday and another possible Sunday, his name is Apolo, I thought he was a member cause he`s always at the church activities and has come a few times to church, but the bishop called us friday ngiht and told us to come to the church to teach him. he`s super cool and is progressing sooo fast!!!! he will be ready for this next sunday. I`m very excited for him.

As you can tell by the subject We had a baptism this last week, his name is Aldair and we baptized his sister about a month ago. They are a really cool family, their dad has a baptismal date for august 6th, because it`s his birthday, so we`re going to baptize him them! and we`re still working on his mom to get her with a date. July 4, 2011 BUENOS DÍAS!

Hell hello Everyone!!!

I´m sure your all wondering how my week went. WEll i´ll tell you how it went. I went to Cuernavaca, TODOS LOS DIAS! or EVERYDAY!! WEll I guess not everyday, but I went, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It was crazy. We had a Capacitación, or a Training meeting in english for all of the leaders in the mission, and since i´m District Leader, I went!
But it was seriously great, I loved it a lot and we learned a ton!! Our zone has a Goal of 33 baptisms this month, it´s a very high goal, but we talked about how we can do it, and we can. My companionship has a goal of 5 baptisms this month and we have plenty of awesome people to complete it, we´re just having a hard time comiting people right now to baptism. We have 3 that want to, but want to wait for months to do it just cause it´s their birthday. But we´re getting there!
We found an awesome family of 6 women these last few weeks, and 3 of them came to church on sunday, along with 5 other investigators! We´re really seeing a ton of success here in Coahuixtla and I have faith that it will continue, This week is coming up on changes, and hopefully I don´t get changed, I only have 3 months here, so I doubt i´ll get changed, but I really would like at least another 3 months, But if I get changed, I know it´s for the right reason.
Well I love you all a ton and I hope that you all have a fantastic week in whatever part of the World you are in!

Well hello family! Baptisms are a blessing from God.

Well hello!!
Oh what great things I have to tell you about this week! Well, It was good. haha so we started off the week like normal, But right now we´re working on some papers to marry a couple so they can get baptised, with their 3 children. We´ve been teaching them; Narcizo, Ana, Claudia, David, and Jenifer; for a few months now and they have really changed a lot. So we had their baptismal interviews this last friday and they all passed their interviews, we just need to marry the parents and their ready. So we asked the kids about baptism and when they wanted to get baptized. We told them that the fastest would be that night, or with their parents, or whenever they wanted and after a bit of talking They decided that they wanted to get baptized yesterday! at 7 in the morning! So we woke up early and got everything ready for a nice early morning baptism! IT was really quite an amazing day. Sadly the computer i´m on now is lame so I can´t send a picture, but I will hopefully later today or next week. This next week I have a Leadership Conference In Cuernavaca every day, so I´ll be traveling to and from Cuernavaca every day. I¨m kind of excited. I went to the last one too and it was really great, so yeah everything is going to be great. and if everything goes well, Narcizo and Ana will be getting married and baptized this Saturday! I¨m very excited for that

Well thats about all thats going on here right now. I´´ll let you all know how thigns go this next week and everything.
I love you all and hope you ahve a fantastic week!!

HOLA! RAIN!!

Well hello everyone!! Today sadly I don´t have time like normal for my long email. But this week went by pretty well. We are preparing a family of 5 for baptism for this week. We just need to marry the parents and then they are all ready!!! I´m very excited for it all and it´s gioing to be a crazy week, so prayers are greatly appreciated. haha Today it´s been raining almost non stop. IN the morning we washed our clothes at a members house then hung them out to dry, because dryers pretty much don´t exist here, then it started to rain. CHAFA. but thats what happens. Then we got together as a district and played American football in an awesome field that was FULL of water. So we jumped in puddles and got dirty and wet, it was really fun. Pictures will come next week! Well I really don´t have a lot more to say, other than I feel al ittle bit cold right now, and that makes me VERY HAPPY! haha.
WEll I love you all tons tons tons! and I hope you have a fantastic week!

June 13, 2011 Well HELLO! Baptism, and ¿¿La Hacienda??

Well hello family and friends and dearly beloved ones.
How are you all today? I hope that you are great because I am! Guess what I did today? I went to an Hacienda and Explored!!! if you don´t know what that is check it out on google. you can try La Hacienda de Coahuxtla Mexico. I don´t know if it will be there, but i´m sending pictures, don´t worry!!!
Well this week we had a fantastic baptism, Karina decided that she is ready so she got baptized saturday night. We are teaching her parents and brother too but they haven´t fully commited like she has thought they all come to church every week. But i´ll bet within the next month they all decide that baptism is what they want. We are also starting the Marriage of Narcisso and Ana!! I¨m very exciting, it took a lot of teaching and talking to convince them to get married, but they want to do it and want to get baptized!! yeah! They have 4 kids that are just awesome. So we are looking to have a lot of success in these next few months.
As district leader, I get to do baptismal interviews, at first I was a little nervous of this, but now that i´ve done quite a few i´m not scared at all, but I had a few interviews that were intense this week. It´s weird how much a person can trust you just becasue you wear a black name tag. wow. But i´ve grown a lot!
Well i´m also including pictures of the Baptism of Anabel, karina, La hacienda, and maybe a few other treats that I find on my camera.
Get ready for a LOT of pictures!!
Love you all tons tons TONSSSS and hope that your doing fantastic!!
