December 19, 2011 Work!!

Well we had a pretty good week this week. We´ve put ourselves back to work and are seeing blessings! We found a great family this week, a mother and her 2 children. WE found them of friday, she was carrying a jug of water and i helped her take it to her house, then we talked and she started crying. It was AWESOME! then we set up another appointment for the next day and we taught her a little more and invited her to church. Then We passed by sunday morning and she and her 2 kids we ready and CAME!! WOOT!! They seemed to really enjoy it. The kids were running around after and the lady, Margarita, is really cool. Tonight we´re having our christmas activity and hopefully they´ll come. But it´ll be during our district meeting so we won´t be there for much time... so yeah.
Well This week is Christmas!!!! i´m very very excited! I´m excited to talk to you all on Sunday at 3:00 pm in my parents house, and everyone is invited because i want to talk to everyone!!

December 12, 2011 Happy Birthday Virgen of Guadalupe!!!

Well hello everyone!!
As you may or may not know, today is a national holiday here in mexico. It´s the birthday of the Virgen of Guadalupe!!! Quite possible the most celebrated holiday of the year, except maybe new years. But yes, I was up kind of late with a ton of fireworks, bands, Tlacololeros (in the pictures), and lots more fun!! And all day long theyve been lighting off fireworks and worshiping an awesome amount of Apostacy! YAY APOSTACY!! haha, but now that this holidays over we won´t have to worry about investigators apostacizing anymore! haha thats a good note.
This week was pretty bad, my comp was sick on tuesday and we had very little success. Friday we had a zone service project which was pretty fun, but it seemed like they wanted us to be hidden, so it wasn´t much and it was kind of hidden. But cool anyway.
So Saturday night we had a big event here in Chilpancingo. We had an earthquake that was rated at 6.8. all the locals said it was atleast an 8 though. the epicenter was in a town called Zumpango del Rio. About 30 minutes out of Chipancingo. It was really cool, and slightly scary. we were in a crappy wood house that was tall and the walls almost colapsed, we almost died. haha but nothing happened. A big Catholic church in the center of the city broke. not totally but now it has big cracks. crazy. so yeah, that was an exciting way to end the week.
We also had a BAPTISM!!! A little girl named Lesly finally said yes. She´s been active her whole life, just didn´t want to get baptized! I don´t know why, but we finally talked her into it! She was reallys scared of the water and her foot came out so i had to baptize her twice, that was even worse for her, but she did it!! Then my bishop let me confirm her too!! it was awesome! haha
So thats about it. we´re getting excited for the christmas conference of the mission on the 20th. it should be exciting.

Pictures!!
1. The baptism of Lesly. she lives with her grandma and older brother Esteven. He´s awesome
2. Elder munden and Steven
3. Tlacololeros!! They have big hats, straw suits and big masks, it´s a traditional dance of Guerrero. They had a tiger that dances with them too (a man in a suit) but yes it´s exciting. they are kind of like Chinelos, but not as cool. haha

Love you all tons and hope you have a very merry christmas!

December 5, 2011 More Photos

Yeah these are pictures of a Alacran (like a scorpion) that we found in our house, we were smart enough to cut off its tale and stinger before we played with it. it was fun haha. but they are very dangerous when they sting you. but yeah. we took off its stinger first, cause we´re smart .
There is also a picture of the baptism of Xochitl, she is super cool, her mom too. Her little brother is a crazy monster, but thats to be expected of a 5 year old. Our ward mission leader is also in the picture, his name is Moroni, yes from the Book of Mormon. he has a brother named Mosiah thats on the mission. Book of Mormon names are SUPER popular in the mormon mexican world. haha he got back from his mission like 2 months ago. Cool.

THANKSGIVING!!!! The first of two. OH! I also had a second thanksgiving dinner this week. There´s a member here from Oregon. He´s super gringo and loves speaking english. Infact, he doesn´t speak spanish super well haha, he invited us all over for a big Thanksgiving dinner, sadly i forgot my camera, but hopefully other elders will pass me the pictures. But it was awesome and DELISH!!

December 5, 2011

Another week in Obrera, Chilpancingo. (Obrera in english means ´´female Worker´´ haha)
This week was pretty rough. We have have been finding quite a few people to teach, but it seems that almost none of them are progressing. It´s been pretty rough here the last few weeks, but we have a bright future ahead of us, and lots of work to be done.
This week we had stake conference, The mission presidente, Presidente Spannaus, and the Temple President from the Temple of Mexico City spoke. It was fantastic. The temple president taught about the great blessings of the temple and how we can all be blessed. it was a seriously great talk and made me miss the temple. I haven´t beens ince January and I want to go super bad. HOpefully in this month or next month I´ll be going to the temple with one of my converts who will be going to receive her endowments! I´m extremely excited for that. And theres one of my converts that will complete one year in January and will be able to be sealed with his wife! Im going to talk to them this week and see if they will be going soon, then I can go with them too!!! I would LOVE that. So we´ll see what happens in these next few weeks.
We had a baptism this week as well!!! It was of a little 8 year old girl in our ward. She´s not a convert, but we reactivated her and her family and my companion baptized her. So i consider her as my convert. haha her name is Xochitl pronounced ( Sochil) She´s pretty awesome. And hopefully this week we´ll be baptizing another little girl. She was supposed to get baptized with Xochitl, but something happened with her aunt and she couldn´t. So we´ll see what happens.
Well finally like I promised, I´ll be sending photos.
First off. Because missionaries sometimes have spare time, myc ompnaion and i decided to buy a game. ANGRY BIRDS! yes, it is a board game and it is fun and appropriate. i will probably be bringing it home and we will play it as a family!!
I also have the pictures of the baptism of Freddy, (Alfredo), he is a cool kid who´s neighbors are members. It was fun to baptize him, I had to do it like 3 times cause his foot kept pooping up. haha more pictures to come!
Love you all!!!
