Well hello everyone!!
As you may or may not know, today is a national holiday here in mexico. It´s the birthday of the Virgen of Guadalupe!!! Quite possible the most celebrated holiday of the year, except maybe new years. But yes, I was up kind of late with a ton of fireworks, bands, Tlacololeros (in the pictures), and lots more fun!! And all day long theyve been lighting off fireworks and worshiping an awesome amount of Apostacy! YAY APOSTACY!! haha, but now that this holidays over we won´t have to worry about investigators apostacizing anymore! haha thats a good note.
This week was pretty bad, my comp was sick on tuesday and we had very little success. Friday we had a zone service project which was pretty fun, but it seemed like they wanted us to be hidden, so it wasn´t much and it was kind of hidden. But cool anyway.
So Saturday night we had a big event here in Chilpancingo. We had an earthquake that was rated at 6.8. all the locals said it was atleast an 8 though. the epicenter was in a town called Zumpango del Rio. About 30 minutes out of Chipancingo. It was really cool, and slightly scary. we were in a crappy wood house that was tall and the walls almost colapsed, we almost died. haha but nothing happened. A big Catholic church in the center of the city broke. not totally but now it has big cracks. crazy. so yeah, that was an exciting way to end the week.
We also had a BAPTISM!!! A little girl named Lesly finally said yes. She´s been active her whole life, just didn´t want to get baptized! I don´t know why, but we finally talked her into it! She was reallys scared of the water and her foot came out so i had to baptize her twice, that was even worse for her, but she did it!! Then my bishop let me confirm her too!! it was awesome! haha
So thats about it. we´re getting excited for the christmas conference of the mission on the 20th. it should be exciting.
Pictures!!
1. The baptism of Lesly. she lives with her grandma and older brother Esteven. He´s awesome
2. Elder munden and Steven
3. Tlacololeros!! They have big hats, straw suits and big masks, it´s a traditional dance of Guerrero. They had a tiger that dances with them too (a man in a suit) but yes it´s exciting. they are kind of like Chinelos, but not as cool. haha
Love you all tons and hope you have a very merry christmas!
Love
